We have formed a partnership with Microscope Central in the USA to supply an excellent bespoke microscopy package for Live & Dry Blood analysis based around the Euromex iScope.

We have trialled this package in our clinic and found it well-designed, compact, light-weight and excellent value for money. Worldwide shipping is available and stock availability is usually good.

This is the only type of L.E.D. microscope that we would recommend because of the unique way it illuminates the darkfield condenser directly, giving a clear and well-defined image of the sample. The low wattage of this model should not be confused with the low power offered by budget microscopes.

Digital Imaging Equipment

Here are two options that we recommend regarding the viewing and capturing of live images on a computer:

Option 1) VIEW4K USB Microscope Camera

High Definition 4K HDMI, WiFi, USB Microscope Camera

The View4K is a powerful new smart microscope camera that produces high-definition images of amazing clarity, and can output HDMI (4K Monitor NOT required), USB, or WiFi, or Network.

On-board software allows you to fully control the camera's settings / built-in features with the included wireless mouse. Adjust the exposure, brightness, and more. The software also allows for on-screen measurement, picture in picture, image comparison, video / image replay, and more.

Option 2) Canon DSLR

The following imaging package gives a high-definition clear image, offers useful features such as digital zoom, and allows video and image capture.

All the following items can be purchased online from Amazon or other camera retailers.

Canon EOS 2000D/Rebel t7 (Body Only)

• This is the latest low-specification Canon DSLR that offers HD imagery and ‘Live View’ mode for viewing live blood samples on screen (it connects to your laptop via an HDMI cable). To save money you can purchase the ‘body only’ model that does not come with a lens, as this is not required for use with a microscope (UK model only).

• Canon EOS software is the imaging package that we use in our training and comes free with all Canon cameras.
  
  Please Note: It is not essential that you purchase the latest model. There are earlier models such as the Canon 1200D or 1300D (Rebel T5 in US & Canada) which are perfectly suitable and can be purchased second-hand or refurbished for a much cheaper price. Make sure the model offers HD ‘live view’ video recording.

AmScope Canon DSLR Adaptor + T2 ring

This adaptor connects the camera body to the trinocular head of the microscope (necessary).

• The T2 ring holds the adaptor in place and is attached to the lens mount on the front of the camera. It is vital that you purchase the correct T2 ring for the model of camera that you are using.
